Control & Watch Tower + Fire Station

Paul Francis from the Airfield Research Group http://www.airfieldresearchgroup.org.uk has kindly let me show you the following photographs. I am sure you will find them very interesting.

Please don’t copy them without the Airfield Research Groups Permission and if you haven’t visited the above site you can while away an hour or so browsing.

For those unaware the Offices attached to the Watch Tower were only demolished recently (just prior to Victory Fields development started). The Fire Station is now the 637 VGS Office complex. While the 1960’s control tower was demolished in 1996.

brilliant pics. glad at least some of it is going to be salvaged, even if ro a new home.

  • The white van parked outside the new control tower (1994) belonged to the Brize Norton Flying Club, we used it as a safety vehicle when operating from the airfield, prior to the demolition of the tower.
