The Brian Honess Community Award
1st October 2019
Community organisations, groups and individual volunteers make a huge contribution to lives in the Rissingtons. The Community Award, organised by Rotary in the Rissingtons, recognises and celebrates this great wealth of voluntary work undertaken by people in order to make their neighbourhoods better places to live.
This Award is in memory of Brian Honess, a long-time resident in the area who had a passion for life which was exemplified in his involvement with Rotary, with local people and organisations and his love of music.
All nominations are judged on how the organisation, group or individual has tackled issues that affect people living in their local area, have made a difference to their community, helped get people involved and inspired others. The Award is launched on 1st. October each year; nominations close on 31st. December and the Award is made in the following January on the anniversary of the founding of Rotary in the Rissingtons.
